The problem is that this disorder is not well defined leading to scores of misdiagnoses. Pediatricians and neurologists that are not properly trained are quick to label a kid with ADHD (the same goes for autism) when they are otherwise normal kids. This particular disorder is supposed to be extremely rare (you'll know a real ADHD candidate when you see one); recent media attention has a way of magnifying something and making it appear more prevalent than it really is.

I have adhd. All the medicine does is slow you down. Like at school today, i started to slap this girl on the ass, then I thought... hmmm, what if this girl goes to the office and reports me for sexual harassment or... hmmm what if she has a boyfriend that'll beat me up. If I wasn't on medicine I probably would have done it. The medicine also affects you in a negative way, like today in band we preformed at a football game. One of the songs we played "vise-versa", we had to jump around, dance and act crazy, and I didn't. Without the medicine I would have.

i dont fully buy into crap like adhd and bipolar disorder. the doctors dont want to do thier jobs or get kick backs from pharm companies to test thier medicines on kids. it's amazing that every hyper kid today is diagnosed with some type of "disorder", you notice that all these drugs they prescribe are basically narcotics or depressants.
